Spartans Youth Baseball 16U Loses Lead Early in Defeat
Spartans Youth Baseball 16U watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 5-2 loss to Aces 16U on Saturday. Aces 16U took the lead on a single in the first inning.
Aces 16U opened up scoring in the first inning. Aces 16U scored one run when Nathan Surdej singled.
Hunter Hall was on the hill for Aces 16U. The pitcher went six innings, allowing two runs on six hits, striking out nine and walking one.
Austin Humphrey was on the mound for Spartans Youth Baseball 16U. The bulldog went five innings, allowing five runs on 12 hits, striking out two and walking one. Seth Gibson threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Spartans Youth Baseball 16U hit one home run on the day. Beau Slocum went for the long ball in the sixth inning.
David Schnaufer, Jaxon DelPriore, Ryan Fazio, Slocum, Trey Newton, and Leo Egloff each collected one hit to lead Spartans Youth Baseball 16U.
