Spartans Youth Baseball 14U Can't Catch Up To NTNLL Nighthawks 14U
Spartans Youth Baseball 14U fell behind early and couldn't come back in an 18-8 loss to NTNLL Nighthawks 14U on Saturday. NTNLL Nighthawks 14U took the lead on a single in the first inning.
Despite the loss, Spartans Youth Baseball 14U did collect six hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, NTNLL Nighthawks 14U had 14 hits on the way to victory.
NTNLL Nighthawks 14U opened up scoring in the first inning. NTNLL Nighthawks 14U scored one run when Nolan Slattery singled.
Spartans Youth Baseball 14U notched four runs in the fourth inning. Spartans Youth Baseball 14U offense in the inning was led by Gavin Hoffman, Karvel Martino, and Haufman, all driving in runs in the frame.
Aiden Reed led things off on the pitcher's mound for NTNLL Nighthawks 14U. The righty lasted four innings, allowing five hits and eight runs while striking out nine.
Brayden Lang started the game for Spartans Youth Baseball 14U. The bulldog went one and one-third innings, allowing nine runs on seven hits. Aiden Howe and Blaine Datzler entered the game as relief, throwing one and two-thirds innings and one and two-thirds innings respectively.
Hoffman went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Spartans Youth Baseball 14U in hits.
