Spartans Youth Baseball 14U Can't Quite Erase 7-Run Deficit in Loss to Lancaster Grizzlies 14U
Spartans Youth Baseball 14U's effort to come back from down seven runs in the second inning came up just short, as they fell 10-9 to Lancaster Grizzlies 14U on Saturday. Spartans Youth Baseball 14U tallied nine runs in the failed comeback. Joseph Reese, Lucas Hoisington, Karvel Martino, Devon Wells, Reese, and Hoisington came through with RBIs to lead the rally.
Spartans Youth Baseball 14U was right in it until Lancaster Grizzlies 14U doubled in the seventh inning.
Lancaster Grizzlies 14U opened up scoring in the first inning, when #2 drew a walk, scoring one run.
Spartans Youth Baseball 14U put up five runs in the sixth inning. Spartans Youth Baseball 14U's big bats in the inning were led by a walk by Reese, a single by Hoisington, a sac fly by Brayden Lang, and a double by Gavin Hoffman.
Lang was on the hill for Spartans Youth Baseball 14U. The bulldog lasted three innings, allowing three hits and seven runs while striking out four. Wells threw four innings out of the bullpen.
Hoffman, Chris Ebersole, Reese, Hoisington, and Wells all had one hit to lead Spartans Youth Baseball 14U.
