Despite Strong Fight, Spartans Youth Baseball 14U Can't Top Gronk Nation
Spartans Youth Baseball 14U's effort to come back from down five runs in the second inning came up just short, as they fell 10-9 to Gronk Nation on
Sunday. Spartans Youth Baseball 14 tallied five runs in the failed comeback. David Schnaufer, Jayden Bridge, Jaxon DelPriore, and Hunter Tobolski each picked up RBIs.
Spartans Youth Baseball 14U was right in it until Gronk Nation in the sixth inning.
Gronk Nation took an early lead in the first inning when Lucas C drew a walk, scoring one run.
After Spartans Youth Baseball 14U scored one run in the top of the fourth, Gronk Nation answered with one of their own. Jaxon S was on the pitcher's mound for Gronk Nation. The pitcher lasted four innings, allowing three hits and three runs while striking out seven.
DelPriore led things off on the mound for Spartans Youth Baseball 14U. The bulldog allowed two hits and six runs. Schnaufer and Austin Humphrey entered the game as relief, throwing four innings and one and two-thirds innings respectively. Spartans Youth Baseball 14U tallied seven hits on the day. Humphrey and Tobolski all collected multiple hits for Spartans Youth Baseball 14U.
Tobolski and Humphrey each managed two hits to lead Spartans Youth Baseball 14U. Gronk Nation scattered nine hits in the game.
