Mel Ott Panthers 13U Defeats Resilient Spartans
Despite a 4-run deficit in the third inning, Spartans almost came all the way back,
eventually falling 6-5 to Mel Ott Panthers 13U on Saturday. Spartans scored three runs in the failed comeback on a single by Devon and a groundout by Owen.
Spartans couldn't keep up with Mel Ott Panthers 13U early in the game. Mel
Ott Panthers 13U scored on a single by Anderson and a single by Brayden in the second inning. Mel Ott Panthers 13U pulled away for good with three runs in the second inning. In the second Anderson singled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs
and Brayden singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run. Spartans notched three runs in the seventh inning. Devon and Owen all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.

Brayden L toed the rubber for Spartans. The bulldog went two innings, allowing three runs on our hits and striking out one. Ryan F and Landon P entered the game as relief, throwing three innings and one inning respectively.
Aiden H went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Spartans in hits. Aiden led Spartans
with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with eight stolen bases.
Eli led Mel Ott Panthers 13U with two hits in three at bats.
